The middle of July means traveling up north to The Clay Cup Nationals! Its always good to return to the state of Washington for this awesome event. Jake won the title in 2018, finished second in 2019 and backed it up again, with a strong second place finish. Deming Speedway holds a special place for Jake. This is the home track to Joes Racing Products and promoted by Paul Lemley. Paul works very hard for this three day event and welcomes everyone as if family. There is no other race track like it. While this race was Jakes farewell race in the 7p micro sprint, it was only fitting to finish it there. Before the main event on Saturday night, where Jake placed sixth in overall points and gave him a sixth starting position, his 7p Farrell Frameworks micro was already sold. After placing second, posing for podium pictures, doing interviews, he met with the new owner and wished him the best of luck in one awesome micro. The same micro sprint that helped him win many titles for the past several years. As for 2021, Jake hopes to return to The Clay Cup Nationals once again ... this time one spot better and finishing first, again!
